Latex clothing is not only stunning but also requires special care to maintain their beauty and durability. I have created a comprehensive guide on how to care for your latex to keep it looking shiny and new.

1.Cleaning

After wearing, rinse the latex in lukewarm water to remove any sweat or body oils. I like to hop in the shower to rinse off all the excess oils and fluids from My body and the latex I’m wearing. Depending on how big the latex piece is, fill a sink or a bath tub with lukewarm water. Use a mild soap or a specialized latex cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals, as they can damage the latex. Rinse your latex through the your lukewarm water with cleaner inside and out a couple times to remove all oils and bodily fluids. Then rinse all the soap off the latex with just water. If you leave any cleaner on your latex you will notice dry spots once the latex is dried. Do not panic though! The dry spots can be removed with shine. After rinsing your latex thoroughly, pat dry with a soft towel and leave to air dry before storing.

2.Shining

If you plan on storing clean latex in a closet it must be shined once dry. If you plan on storing your clean latex in a vacuum sealed bag do NOT shine it. To restore the shine, apply a thin layer of silicone-based lubricant or a specialized latex shiner. Use a soft cloth to buff the latex gently. Avoid using oil-based products, as they can degrade the latex over time.

3.Storage

Store your latex catsuit in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and sharp objects that could puncture or tear the latex. Hanging the catsuit on a padded hanger is ideal to help maintain its shape. If you don’t plan on wearing your latex soon then it can be cleaned, dried and stored in a sealable plastic bag.

4.Avoiding Damage

Be cautious when wearing jewelry or accessories that could snag or tear the latex. Trim your nails to avoid accidental punctures. When dressing, use a light dusting of talcum powder or silicone lube on your skin to prevent sticking.

Trim your nails and make sure there are no sharp edges! Or you’ll poke a hole through your latex like I did!

5.Repairing Tears

If your catsuit develops a small tear, repair it immediately with a latex adhesive, rubber cement works well. Clean the area around the tear with acetone, apply a small amount of adhesive to both sides of the tear, and press them together. Allow it to dry completely before wearing again. Most latex companies often provide a patch with your latex order incase of a puncture.

This latex catsuit ripped right where the crotch zipper glues to the catsuit.

I repaired the tear by glueing the seam back together and adding a patch to the seam since the crotch are flexes and moves a lot.

6.Avoiding Heat

Latex is sensitive to heat, so avoid exposing your catsuit to excessive heat sources, such as hairdryers, radiators, or direct sunlight. Heat can cause the latex to become brittle and lose its elasticity.

7.Regular Inspections

Periodically inspect your latex for any signs of damage, such as tears, discoloration, or degradation. Addressing these issues early can prevent further damage and prolong the life of your latex.

By following these care tips, you can ensure that your latex remains in pristine condition, allowing you to enjoy its beauty and sensuality for years to come.
